Q. Where is Helicopter Adventures?
A. Our address is 1860 21st Ave. N, in Myrtle Beach SC 29577. We are located directly across from Broadway At The Beach- just behind Grand Prix Speedpark and the Wax Museum.
Q. What are your hours of operation?
A. Summer hours are 9 am – 10pm. Winter hours are from 10 am- 6 pm. Daily as weather permits. Summer hours start Memorial Day weekend.
Q. When is the best time to fly?
A. The least busy time to fly is usually the first couple hours after we open.
Q. What are the prices of the Helicopter Adventure tours?
A. All of our tours are priced per person, double occupancy required. We offer an introductory flight, our Fly4fun ride, for just $20.pp. We also offer 6 Adventure tours that range from $39.99 and up to $179.99 per person. Children under 24 months ride FREE!** Must ride on adult lap. We also have custom tours and charters.
Q. Where can I buy tickets?
A. Tickets can be purchased on-site or on this website at www.HelicopterAdventures.com.
Q. How often do tours depart?
A. We do not have a set departure schedule; all you need to do is come in and choose your tour, and off you go!
Q. Do I need a reservation?
A. We offer all our tours on a walk-in basis or you can purchase your tickets in advance online.
Q. Am I supposed to tip the pilot?
A. It is customary to tip your tour guides, feel free to complement your guide!
Q. Are gift certificates available?
A. Yes! You can purchase gift certificates on-site!
Q. Are your pilots certified?
A. Yes! All of our pilots are FAA commercially rated and have passed rigorous FAA certifications, Company testing, and recurrent training to be a part of our team and your tour pilot.
Q. What is your safety record?
A. Your safety is our number one priority! We are proud to say we have a 100% perfect safety record. And we implement every safety measure to ensure it stays that way!
Q. How many people can fly at once?
A. Up to three passengers can fly at the same time. (*please see weight limits) If you have more than three in your party, we have several helicopters so we won’t leave them behind!!
Q. Do you have weight restrictions?
A. Yes. The maximum weight per seat or per person is 300 lbs. The maximum passenger weight per entire flight is 580 lbs.
Q. What is the age limit?
A. There are no age limits, but passengers under 24 months must ride on the lap of an adult rider.
Q. Can I fly by myself?
A. All flights require a two person minimum.
Q. Can handicapped individuals fly?
A. Absolutely! Certain safety restrictions apply, we do all we can to safely accommodate all who wish to fly.
Q. Are you required to fly everyone? Can I fly Drunk?
A. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone based on our observance of any peculiar behaviors or attitude. Our first priority is safety for our passengers and our pilots.
Q. Where do the Helicopter Adventure tours go?
A. We have a variety of tours available. Please go to the Tours page on this website for a full description of each tour. Tours are from 2-42 miles in length, and about 3-23 minutes in length.
Q. Do all tours go over the ocean?
A. Every Adventure Tour takes you over the ocean, and extended flights will take you over the intercostal waterway as well.
Q. Do Helicopter Adventure tours cause motion sickness?
A. This is a scenic tour, not a thrill ride. It is extremely rare for anyone to experience motion sickness from any of our tours. Flights are smooth; the turns are slow and gentle.
Q. How should I dress?
A. Dress appropriately for the season and comfort. Shirts, pants and shoes are required. Please be advised, no hats are allowed past the boarding gate, we provide a rack to hang your hat on at the boarding gate if you forget! Large bags, purses, or bulky items are not allowed to be carried on board. There are free lockers for these items at the boarding area.
Q. Can I take photos?
A. Only after you are seated in the helicopter, seat belts fastened and headsets in place, and then you are welcome to take video and still photos of your tour.
Q. What type of helicopter does Helicopter Adventures use?
A. We are proud to fly the Robinson R-44, the most popular helicopter in the world! Our helicopters offer each passenger with their own panoramic window seat view. You are also equipped with noise-reducing headsets (additional fee) and microphones that will enable you to communicate with each other and the pilot!
Q. Are headsets included in the price of the tour?
A. Headsets are not included in the price of the tour, but can be rented for only $5.00 per person per flight.
Q. Can I wear my hat?
A. Hats are not allowed past the boarding gate and are not allowed to be worn on any of our flights.
